FCT-OKAY A NEW NIGERIA has called for an immediate and transparent investigation into the death of Mary Habila, a female nurse who reportedly died at the Uburu residence of the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi.
This is as the group also urged the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, to step down, pending an inquiry into allegations against him and Adeniyi Adeyemi, the DG of the “fake” government agency, PFIPC .
The group made the declarations on Sunday, July 19, during a press briefing in Abuja led by the State Chairman, Hon. Mathew Chinedu Chukwuemeka.
At the same briefing, the movement endorsed the presidential ticket of Mr. Peter Obi and Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
They also congratulated Mr. Obi on his birthday.
Addressing journalists, the movement said the incidents raised serious questions about accountability, security and public trust in government.
They argued that Nigerians deserve clarity on high-profile cases involving public officials and institutions, especially at a time when concerns about governance and welfare are growing nationwide.
On the candidacy of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the group said the ticket has promised to take Nigerians out of insecurity, poverty and what it described as bad leadership under the APC government led by President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The movement also congratulated Mr. Peter Obi on his birthday, commending him for how he has carried himself despite what looks like intimidation by the government in power, and described him as the incoming president.

1. Death at Minister Umahi’s Residence
The group expressed condolences over the death of Habila, described as domestic staff at the Minister of Works and Housing’s home.
Resolution: FCT-OKAY called on relevant security and judicial authorities to conduct a thorough, transparent and immediate investigation to establish the facts, ensure justice, and prevent a recurrence.
2. Allegations Against the Chief of Staff
The movement cited public concerns and allegations of scandal and financial impropriety surrounding the office of the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, specifically in relation to the activities of an agency referred to as PFIPC.
Resolution: In the interest of transparency and accountability, the group urged the President to either relieve the Chief of Staff of his duties immediately or have him step aside to allow for an unbiased investigation.
3. Rising Insecurity and Kidnapping
FCT-OKAY condemned what it described as the continued rise in kidnapping and insecurity across the country. The group linked the trend to broader failures in governance and economic management.
Resolution: The group called on President Tinubu and the nation’s security architecture to intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
It warned that if the current administration cannot guarantee the safety of Nigerians, it should be prepared to face the consequences at the 2027 General Elections.

Hon. Mathew said the movement remains committed to good governance and the welfare of citizens.
“Leadership is about responsibility, and the people deserve systems that work for them,” he said. “We trust that the President will take these concerns seriously and act in the best interest of the nation.”
