The people of Ibinaukwu Community in Igbere, Bende LGA, have thrown their full weight behind two men ahead of 2027: their son, Labour Party House of Reps hopeful Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, and Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.
The pledge was made on Thursday during the community’s Iriji celebration, where Dr. Anyaso was received with songs, cheers and a united front that cut across party lines.
Community Chairman, Mr. Egemba Onuoha, said the decision was not about party but about home.
“Whether you are in APC, Labour Party, PDP or any other party, when it comes to the House of Representatives, no single vote will go out against our son, Chima Anyaso,” he told the gathering.
He said the community settled on Dr. Anyaso because of his humility, accessibility and the respect he has consistently shown Ibinaukwu people over the years.
The women were just as emphatic. Woman Leader, Mrs. Mary Madubuike, announced that the women had resolved to vote Dr. Anyaso and the Labour Party. She then turned to the governorship race and made the headline pledge.
“For your sake, we will all vote for the Governor to continue to do what he has been doing. There is nothing like party this time around. Every single vote is for you, Governor Alex Otti,” she declared, citing the Governor’s performance and ongoing development across Abia State.
Other leaders also spoke in one voice. Chief Nwokocha Lekwauwa, Chief Sunday Okorie and Youth Leader, Mr. Nnorom Ojukwu, assured Dr. Anyaso of total support and bloc votes in 2027.
An emotional Dr. Anyaso thanked the community for the confidence and warm reception.
“I will not disappoint you,” he promised. “If elected to represent Bende Federal Constituency, I will remain committed to serving our people and justifying the trust you have placed in me.”
With the Iriji declaration, Ibinaukwu has signaled early that 2027 politics in the area will be driven more by performance and kinship than by party banners.
