Abia State government says it would start the distribution of grains it recently received from the federal government from tomorrow, Friday, April 12, baring any last minute change.

The distribution of the grains, our correspondent gathered, would be distributed by the Rev. Fr. Christian Anokwuru led Abia State Palliative Distribution Committee.

In a telephone interview, Rev. Fr. Anokwuru in a breakdown “Last time, we targeted the vulnerable persons in the villages, using the 184 political wards, leaving out the civil servants.

“But this time around, we are still adopting that method, but however, we are targeting first, the low grade civil servants from grade level 1 to grade level 10.

“The first tranche will be shared for civil servants in grade level 1-7 from tomorrow and if we receive more, we will open it to grade level 10.

“So far, we have received 24, 000 25kg bags of rice. We are giving each of the civil servants a bag of the 25kg bag of rice.

“We are still expecting other grains. We are still expecting bags of garri and maize grains in the coming weeks.

“What has come is what we are giving.
