Governor Alex Otti says gone are the days of making appointments just to create jobs for the “boys.”
He stated this at the Banquet hall of the Government House Umuahia during the swearing in of the second batch of two additional commissioners into the State Executive Council.
He said all the appointments are meant to add value to the State, adding that all the appointees are square pegs in square holes.
“Every institution is as good as the people, stressing that his government is in continuous search for the best.”
The Governor who noted that in the past people have lobbied and even paid money for positions said such practice has seized.
He reminded the new commissioners that the expectations from Abia people are very high and as such his government Will not accept poor quality jobs from them but the best .He urged them to bring in their best to the job.
Dr Otti who noted that the two Commissioners were well engaged with the European Union and General Electric management in Netherlands respectively before their appointments, commended them for their show of love and sacrifices to the State and congratulated them for accepting to serve the State.
