Abia State House of Assembly lawmakers have adjourn their 1st plenary in 2022 in honour of one of the founding fathers of the state, Dr. Anagha Ezikpe who passed on recently.

The House in a motion moved by the majority leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu and seconded by Hon. Aaron Uzodike, unanimously agreed to reconvene on Monday, February 7, 2022.

The Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji said “In respect and honour of one of the founding fathers of our Dear State whom we lost to the cold hands of death, it is pertinent that the Abia State House of Assembly shows respect to this Elder Statesman, we are therefore suspending all activities in honour of this fallen hero”, the Speaker announced.

A minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased after members of the House agreed with the position of the Speaker to adjourn items on the Order Paper to be considered on another Legislative Day.
