The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abia State chapter, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa has express confidence of 2023 Igbo presidential capable of continuing with the legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government.

Nwankpa in a telephone conversation with our correspondent said that while the decision of the party as to where the presidency would be zoned in 2023, it will be, however, just for APC to zone the choice for 2023 presidency to the southeast.

According to him, Igbos have the candidates that are eminently qualified to lead the country well, bringing their wealth of knowledge and expertise to bare.

“The party is supreme. While we are waiting for the position that the party might take, however, under normal circumstances and contest of fair play and equity, the power is supposed to be zoned to the southeast.

“The people of Southeast have people that can sustain and continue with the agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration.

“After every indigenous population in the country, southeast has the highest population; we don’t lack in population.

“Southeast is the most populous zone in the country. Go to Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, check their indigenous population. After their indigenous population, the largest population is the Southeast.”

On the argument that the Southeast do not have the voting strength to even win for APC in the zone

“While PDP doesn’t have a stake in the Southwest, APC has a stake in the southeast

“We have some members of the party in the Southeast, PDP didn’t have such in the southwest.

Southwest has produced in Olusegun Obasanjo. South-South produced Jonathan, North Yar’ Adua, and Buhari.
