Despite indications emerging Friday that the former Speaker House of Representatives, Rt.Hon. Yakubu Dogara has rejoined his former party, APC, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Bauchi State, Friday said that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives is yet to inform the party of his defection.

Recall that the meeting between Dogara and President Muhammdu Buhari on Friday at Aso Villa which lasted for some hours gave the suspicion that Dogara came to inform the President of his defection back to the APC from the PDP.

The State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam while reacting to reports of his leaving the PDP in a Phone interview said the party is still expecting a formal notification from Dogara if indeed he had defected.

”We have not received any letter of him leaving our party ,  and when you see him with the President, it’s normal because he was a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, maybe there are some issues he wants  to call his attention to,  but when  he makes his defection official to us, we shall comment on that. For now we are waiting to receive a letter from him” He said.

Dogara, who defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) shortly before the 2019 general elections, was led to meet President Muhmmadu Buhari at the State House on Friday by the chairman of the party’s Caretaker/National Planning Committee Governor Mai Mala Buni where he confirmed he had rejoined the APC.

All effort to ascertain the reason behind  Dogara’s defection  proved abortive  as calls and messages put across  to his Special Adviser on Media, Turaki Hassan were not responded to as at press time.
