Two Enyimba players sustain injury as armed robbers attack team bus

Two players of Enyimba International Football Club of Aba was said to have sustained minor injuries after their car was reportedly attacked by gunmen suspected to be armed.

It was learnt that the players’ vehicle was attacked along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, some distance away from Okigwe.

It was gathered that the incident happened on their way to Aba after their away league match with Adamawa United in Gombe State where they defeated their host by 2-0.

When the news of the robbery incident filtered into town, concerned Enyimba fans feared that the incident could affect the psychology of the players who are battling to make a return to the top of the Nigerian League table after their exit at the CAF Confederation Cup in Guinea by Horoya FC.

“It’s true that we ran into armed robbers on our way back to Aba yesterday.

“The incident occurred just after Okigwe. Luckily we sped off and neither life nor property was lost.
