The member representing Obingwa East State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu has donated educational materials to schools in his constituency.
The schools include Abala community primary school, Oberete Isiala community primary school, Ohanzeagwo community primary school and Obete lbeme community primary school respectively.
Akpulonu represented by Comrade Ogbonna Achonna also presented fifteen school bags to pupils from primary two to six who are on his scholarship programme and informed them that their school uniforms will be delivered to them soon.
Comrade Achonna while presenting the items to the four benefitting schools said that the donation was part of Akpulonu’s support to promote Sustainable Development Goals (4) within ward eleven government primary schools in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the aim and objectives of donating educational materials is to encourage and motivate the pupils to take their academic work seriously.
Achonna who stated that the action of the lawmaker is in line with the vision of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s led administration in ensuring that illiteracy is eradicated in the state noted that for Abia children get qualitative education which would enable them to compete favourably with their counterparts, there is a great need for people to join hands with the state government to give education a facelift.
In their separate speeches, their Headmistress of Abala community primary school Mrs. lbendiogwu Victoria Nnalu and Mrs. Madonna Nwankpa Nnenna of Ohanzegwo community primary school including Mrs. Adema Nwanyieze of Oberete Isiala community primary school as well as Mrs. Alala Chidinma of Obete primary school, commended the Obingwa East lawmaker for the wonderful works he has been doing since his inception as member representing Obingwa state constituency in Abia State house of Assembly in 2015.
They also asked God to bless him with good health and more political promotion in future.
They further requested for state government to post more teachers to them and also provide chairs, tables and borehole to them.
The event attracted the present of many ward eleven grassroots politicians as well as lbeme community youth President Comrade Charles Ekwenye and teachers from the four community primary schools among other.
Earlier in his speech, ward eleven Peoples Democratic Party chairman, Elder Chibuo Nwogwugwu described Hon. Akpulonu as competent and visionary leader that understand the needs of his constituents and encouraged him not to relent in his efforts in doing good adding that PDP ward eleven are in support of him.
