2019: Groups warn Abia APGA factional leaders against destabilizing party

Some political pressure groups under the aegis of Alliance of Pressure Groups (APG) from the South East and South South geopolitical zones have warned some persons in All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Abia State chapter it described as renegade officials to stay clear of acts that will truncate the changes of the party winning the 2019 governorship election in the state.

 

In a communiqué at the end of their crucial meeting, APG noted with dismay that some officials of APGA in Abia state who are operating outside the state secretariat of the party on Ikot Ekpene by School Road, Umuahia have reportedly become tools in the hands of the ruling political party in the state to destabilize APGA.

“APG has noted with dismay that some officials of APGA in Abia state who are operating outside the state secretariat of the party on Ikot Ekpene by School Road, Umuahia have become tools I the hands of the ruling political party in the state to destabilize APGA.  

 

“Aware of the grievous danger which the evil intentions and the mission of these renegade APGA officials portend to Abia State, we have taken a firm decision to explore all possible means to thwart the intended sabotage against APGA”, the group said.

APG therefore issued an ultimatum, “That all the renegade agents and purported aspirants operating at the parallel office must in their own interest stay away from the APGA in Abia State”.

 

The communiqué further stated that APG would deploy every lawful means to ensure that those allegedly bought over by other political parties in the state to destabilize APGA in Abia should not have their way.

The group which said it is backing Rev. Augustine Ehiemere’s leadership in the State lamented over what they described as absence of governance in the last 12 years in the state, stating that the group would be willing to assist the party in the state and Imo State as well in order to ensure that APGA win both states in 2019
