Twitter lovebirds wed in Ikoyi Registry, Lagos State


Before the advent of social media, meeting a woman far from your location and even in the same location means travelling by whatever means to the village for burials, attending friends, loved ones, office colleague’s wedding among other functions including birthdays.

Alternatively, any man who wants to settle down would tell the parents to look for a woman in the village that they think will make a good wife.

And when you eventually meet the person, you must be in this case, a man with oratory gifts to keep communication through letter writing and any other means that is suitable to you guys.

As time changes, events equally change and the youths are not left out as the advent of social media has come with what many of them can never take their eyes off from.

Stories in the last years abound of how people that met and later got wedded after meeting on the social media have turned enemies overnight.

Damming such negative stories, A Nigerian couple who met on twitter have not only become best friend, they went ahead to seal their vow to spend the rest of their lives with each other as they tied the knot yesterday at the Ikoyi registry in Lagos.

According to the groom, Damola, his bride, Tolu, in July last year, sent him a DM asking about a trip he was organizing and he went further to ask if she wanted to be Mrs. Damola. The rest is history now.
