The LP candidate described the alleged use of military personnel against civilians as unacceptable and an affront to the dignity of the people of Igbere. He urged security agencies to operate within the bounds of the law and to prioritize dialogue over force in resolving disputes in the area.

“We are a peaceful people. We welcome development, we welcome law and order, but we will not accept intimidation of our men, women and youths,” he added.

Community leaders at the meeting expressed support for Anyaso’s position, noting rising concerns over security operations in parts of Bende LGA in recent months. Some residents alleged that disputes over land and political disagreements had led to the invitation of armed personnel into the community, though details of the specific incident referenced by Anyaso could not be independently verified at press time.

Anyaso, who is contesting to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the Labour Party platform, said part of his legislative agenda would focus on protecting civil rights and ensuring better civil-military relations across the constituency.
