The school proprietor of Royal Experience School, Mr. Ebere Francis has been arrested by the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Mr. Ebere was accused of raping a 14-year-old female minor (name withheld) who is a Junior Secondary School student in his school.
Mr. Ebere was said to have been on the run after the affected student fled from the school and ran into a compound where she narrated her ordeal in the hands of the proprietor in the second campus of the school.
The youths of Ohuru in Obingwa local government area of the state had barricaded the school after the proprietor fled from his school after it became public knowledge that he had carnal knowledge of the female student.
Our correspondent reports that the school proprietor was said to have been arrested in Aba, the commercial nerve of the state after being tracked for several days that he went underground in an attempt to escape arrest.
The Nation had reported that the accused in a telephone interview denied having canal knowledge of the victim who is also a prefect of her class.
Information from sources at the state command of the Nigeria Police Force has it the accused is cooling off at the detention center of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Umuahia, the state capital.
Our correspondent gathered that samples have been collected by the police medical clinic to test for possible transmittable disease; HIV/AIDS and another others including test for possible pregnancy and to also ascertain if there were penetration of the female student by the school director as the victim had claimed.
This the police sources disclosed the outcome of the results will help the police in its investigation.
The father of the victim, Mr. Luke who told our correspondent that he was informed Monday that the case has been transferred to the SCID in Umuahia, begged the wife of the governor of the state, Priscilla Otti to come to the aid of the family to ensure that noting was swept under the carpet.
