The traditional ruler of Ikorodu community in Lagos State, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Adegorushen V has sent a letter to the Medical Director of a government hospital in the area, Ikorodu General Hospital located on TOS Benson Road, Ikorodu, warning him against the consequences of allowing female staff of the hospital to come to work or move around on Thursday, May 16, 2024 within the community.

A copy of the letter personally signed by Oba Shotobi, which was obtained by infonet9ja.com has it that the warning became necessary ahead of the community’s cultural festival, Magbo (Oro) which forbids women from moving around the community within the period of its celebration.

 

The warning letter from Oba Shotobi read “This is to notify you of the above festival which is slated for Thursday 16th May 2024, according to tradition all female are advised to remain in their respective homes and avoid moving around the town during the Oro Festival.

“Please note that your Organization is affected by falling within the Oro traditional jurisdictions.

 

“You are hereby advised to adhere with the tradition of the Town.

 

“Your cooperation towards the success of the festival will be appreciated.
