The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum E. Orji has called on Abians to remain calm and not be alarmed by the increased presence of police and other security agencies at the State House of Assembly complex.

Infonet9ja.com reports that there was panic among members of the State Assembly and Abians who expressed fears over the presence and number of security operatives at the state Assembly Complex which they said was unusual.

Recall that there has been no love lost between now divided members of the state lawmakers after the dramatic impeachment of the Speaker by some of the disgruntled members and counter impeachment of the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly and suspension of members of the other faction.

The Speaker also debunked the insinuations in some quarters that the House has refused to sit to avoid approving the request from the Executive arm.

According to him, any request(s) from the Executive were usually channelled as Appropriation Bill or supplementary Appropriation Bill, adding that, there was no request for approval of any Appropriation by the Executive that was pending before the House, stating that T
the House had since passed both requests last December.
