Addressing journalists at APC Enugu State Secretariat, the Senatorial candidate whose manifesto is titled: Restoration Mandate 2023 also stated “I will pursue an aggressive inclusiveness template and ensure even distribution of infrastructural development…and attract employment for the teeming citizens of Enugu West Senatorial District.”
Prof Nick Ezeh added, “I will ensure justice, equity and fairness to all our constituents as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Prof. Ezeh’s seven policy approaches with which he hopes to pursue human capital development include: Poverty Reduction, Tackling Unemployment, Creating Public Access to Reach Him, Education, Industrialization of the Zone to Reverse Forced Migration to Urban Areas, Setting Programmes to Curb Cultural and Moral Value Crisis, and Mentorship.
He said, “I shall exploit the time-tested wealth distribution apprenticeship system of our people, which has attracted global attention and has become a field of study known as “capital accumulation process” under Harvard Business School, to develop a 15-year plan of creating new millionaires,” for the eradication of poverty in his zone.
Tackling Unemployment, he said he would engage unemployment in his zone through agribusiness development, promising that the intervention programmes due to his people would be fully accessed..
For the education of his people, Prof. Nick promised to raise the quality of education in his zone and also introduce adult school in the area of agribusiness without forgetting the giving of scholarships to the indigent youth of his zone.
Talking on forced migration of the youth of his zone to the urban areas and overseas without skills, he said, “I intend to reverse or at least reduce by attracting industrialization to our zone not only through legislative action, but equally by tapping into my international network of investors.”
He further stated that he would make concerted effort to equip the youth in his zone with the prerequisite skills that could support them to cope with the changing demographics of most urban locations and oversea nations.
