The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji has congratulated the Director General, World Trade Organization, Dr. Mrs Okonjo-Iweala, Amb Dr.(Mrs) Uzoma Ikechi Emenike MON Ambassador of Nigeria, United States of America, The National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists. High Chief Christopher Isiguzo MFR and the Member, Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives Rep. (Barr) Nkeiruka Onyejeocha OON, on their conferment of National Honours by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a congratulatory message, The Speaker described Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as a global citizen, adding that her conferment with the national recognition by her home country means she has served Nigeria in various highly sensitive capacities and transparently distinguishing herself as well as proven her mettle.
“Your home State, Abia State is very proud of you as President Muhammadu Buhari has bestowed on you the coveted Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON. This is to salute you on this feat as this is a pointer to the fact that more honors await you.”
The Speaker also congratulated Amb Dr.(Mrs) Uzoma Ikechi Emenike MON
Ambassador of Nigeria, United States of America, on her recognition with National Honours, saying that her academic prowess has never been in contention and points to the fact that she has distinguished herself as a seasoned Diplomat.
The Speaker said, “You have put Abia State on the world map and another feather has befitingly been placed on your cap as President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed on you the national recognition of the Member of the Order of the Niger, MON. Indeed, a gold fish has no hiding place”.
Similarly, The Speaker also felicitated the National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists. High Chief Christopher Isiguzo MFR, Ugosinachi Ohuhu, stating that leading warriors of the Fourth Estate of the Realm at the national level shows an individual with impeccable strength of character and panache, adding that he is naturally gifted.
He noted that the National Honours conferred on him as a national citizen, viz a viz his award as a Member of the Federal Republic, MFR. did not come as a surprise as he is a gold fish that does not have anywhere to hide.
The Speaker added, ‘The reward for hard work is more work as I salute you on this well deserved national recognition. There is more out there. Go get them.”
Meanwhile, The Speaker has also sent his congratulatory message to the Member, Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives Rep. (Barr) Nkeiruka Onyejeocha OON
The Speaker said, it is no mean feat to be chosen by one’s people to speak for them as concerns national politics and in this regards, adding that she has been exceptionally outstanding.
The Speaker said, “Through you, the voice of your people resonate in the National Assembly maturedly and intellectually. You are loved and admired. Your contributions to national development has brought you to the fore front as you have been recognized via the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON by President Muhammadu Buhari. I congratulate you on this auspicious national recognition and to say you are an asset any day.”
