The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Thursday night brightened their chances of progressing to the next stage of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as they defeated Botswana Women counterparts.
The Super Falcons defeated the Botswana’s female team with two goals at the Prince Moulay Al-Hassan Stadium.
The two goals were scored by Ifeoma Onumonu and Ucheibe Christy respectively.
The Super Falcons will face Burundi on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Banyana Banyana of South Africa have qualified for the quarter-finals after defeating Burundi 3-1 in their second Group C game on Thursday.
It is now a back-to-back victory for South Africa who opened the tournament with a win against champions Super Falcons of Nigeria.
