AIT Staff Dies In Auto Crash In Niger State


The Niger State Correspondent of the Africa Independent Television (AIT), Mallam Mohammed Danladi, has died at the age of 50.

Danladi was involved in a ghastly motor accident in Minna on Thursday evening.

He was said to have been returning home when his car was rammed into by some youths who were at high speed.

The late Danladi was described as an exemplary, unpretentious and outspoken journalist, who discharged his duties with diligence, devotion and integrity.

The late Danladi was a member of the Correspondents Chapel of the Niger State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

A statement signed by Chairman and Secretary of the chapel, Yakubu Mustapha Bina and Daniel Atori, said that the deceased was passionate about the growth and development of the journalism profession in all ramifications, adding that he will surely be missed, especially his commitment to the union activities in the state.

The Chairman of Niger State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Abu Nmodu expressed grief over the sudden demise of the late Danladi, saying NUJ Niger State Council has lost an industrious and active member to the cold hands of death.

Danladi is survived by his wife, five children as well as an aged mother.

He was buried on Friday morning according to Islamic rites.
