The leadership of the Abia State House of Assembly has assured residents and motorists operating on Faulks of its commitment in ensuring that the road leading to the popular Ariaria International market becomes motorable again.

The House in a statement signed by Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu Deputy Speaker and Chairman, House Committee on Media and Publicity on Wednesday at the end of an oversight function visit to Faulks and Ngwa roads respectively stated that the House would be summoning the contractors handling the roads to appear before it.

Rt. Hon. Uchendu stated that the planned invitation of the contractors was part of the Assembly’s step towards ensuring that the two roads were fixed.

According to the statement, the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji who spoke onbehalf of his colleagues during the visit to Aba told the people of Aba that the state Lawmakers feel their pains and worries.

He quickly assured them that the legislators shall be having an interface with the Executive Arm to ensure that the Governor’s promise for construction works to recommence on the roads were not in any way circumvented.

Engr. Orji further told relevant Commissioners present during the visit to help the Governor realise his dreams of fixing the roads.

ABIA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY VISITS FAULKS ROAD, NGWA ROAD ON OVERSIGHT FUNCTION

Members of the Abia State House of Assembly today went on oversight function to some roads in Aba the commercial nerve centre of our dear state to ascertain the current conditions of the roads including Faulks Road and Ngwa Road.

At Faulks Road in Aba North Local Government Area, and at Ngwa Road in Aba South Local Government Area, the Speaker who spoke on behalf of Members of the House about the condition of the roads, told the people that the state Lawmakers feel their pains and worries but quickly assured them that the legislators shall be having an interface with the Executive Arm to ensure that the Governor’s promise for construction works to recommence on the roads were not in any way circumvented.

He told the relevant Commissioners present during the visit to help the Governor realise his dreams of fixing the roads.

The House of Assembly also assured the people of the respective areas that contractors handling the road projects shall soon be summoned to appear before the House as part of actions to ensure that the roads were fixed.

The Speaker therefore appealed to the people to exercise some more patience as works were expected to recommence on the roads as soon as the rains were over.
