A wheelbarrow pusher in one of the big markets (Cemetery market) in Aba has reportedly killed a colleague.
This is even as angry residents of Ogbor Hill in Aba North local government area of Abia State have reportedly killed a robbery suspect in Aba, the commercial nerve center of the state.
Our correspondent who was in the area reports that the body of the deceased was dumped at the shore of popular Aba River on the Aba-Ikot Ekpene expressway, which serves as source of water to butchers in the popular Aba abattoir.
Some residents who some to our correspondent disclosed that the deceased was killed after the victim that he dispossessed of her belonging raised the alarm, leading to other passerby to chase after him.
The deceased was said to have been caught at the Ukaegbu junction along the Aba-Ikot Ekpene expressway where he was killed by the mob that chased after him.
According to the respondents, the deceased was instrumental to series of robberies including snatching of handbags, phones and dispossession of valuables of the residents especially at night and early hours of the day.
It was learnt that upon arrest by the angry mob, it was discovered that he (deceased) uses the head of a faulty umbrella which he claimed to be gun to force victims to hand over their bags, money, phones and among other valuable.
The mob was said to have been infuriated when they discovered that the deceased was using a fake gun to Rob unsuspecting members of the public.
His body was said to have been dropped off at the bank of the Aba waterside where they claimed the deceased spend most of his time.
They said that the essence is to serve a note of warning to others in the same business who menial job at the waterside in the day time as cover-up but turns to big threat to road users and residents at night.
The body of the deceased was still at the bank of the Aba River at the time of filing the report.
The wheelbarrow pusher was said to have killed his colleague after an argument broke out between the two.
The deceased was said to have been deposited at the morgue while the killer wheelbarrow pusher was said to have been handed over to the police.
Abia State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna could not be reached at the time of filing the report.
