Teenager Reportedly Pushes 52-Year-Old Woman To Death

Unknown gunmen on Friday, reportedly killed 62-year-old traditional ruler of Mkpunando, Aguleri, His Royal Highness, Alex Edozieuno in Anambra State.

Eze Edozieuno was said to have been killed alongside his driver, one Chukwuemeka along Ezu Bridge, Otuocha in Anambra East Local Government Area.

Details of his death at the time of filing the report was still sketchy as it was yet to be ascertained if it was a case of assassination, as the identity of the killers remained unknown.

Information however, has it that the incident took place at about 10am at the said location.

Edozieuno who was one- time Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State during the reign of former Governor Chinweoke Mbadinuju was one of the 13 traditional rulers allegedly deposed by Governor Willie Obiano for reportedly visiting President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja with oil mogul, Prince Arthur Eze.

It was not clear what led to the killing suspected to be an assassination.

In a trending video on social media, the monarch was shot in the head and dragged into a nearby bush while his driver, equally shot in the head, was left in the car by the killers.

Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident.

Tochukwu said the new Commissioner of Police Tony Olofu had visited the crime scene.

According to the Anambra State Command PPRO, “The CP described the incident as man’s inhumanity to man and ordered immediate investigation to the incident.

“The exhibits recovered from the scene were one Lexus 470 with plate Reg No Aguleri-1 belonging to the victim and some expended ammunition.”

He stated that the bodies of the deceased traditional ruler and driver had been deposited in one of the morgues in the State.
