Abia Speaker's Aide Warned Against Linking Boss With Fake Social Media Accounts

An Aide to the Abia State House of Assembly Speaker; Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, Mr. Jude Ndukwe has warned the general public against dealing with people using several facebook and other Social media accounts using image of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

Ndukwe, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker in a statement on Tuesday alleged that yet-to-be identified persons have been opening various social media accounts which the Abia Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary claimed were being used to dupe unsuspecting members of the public without the knowledge of the Speaker.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Abia House of Assembly Speaker in the statement advised members of the public not to follow or interact with any of such social media accounts to avoid being scammed and warned those behind the accounts to pull them down forthwith.

The statement released by the CPS to the Abia State House of Assembly Speaker reads:

“Let it be stated for the umpteenth time that the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji MNSE is neither on Facebook, nor on Twitter nor on Instagram, but we have a plethora of fake social media accounts opened and operated in his name by fraudsters and mischievous fellows.

“While efforts are on to track and prosecute those behind these criminal acts of impersonation, the public is strongly advised to stop following or interacting with such accounts as they might have been opened for ignoble reasons to mislead and possibly defraud unsuspecting citizens.

“Those who have opened and or are operating such social media accounts including Pages and Groups in the name of Mr Speaker whether in his capacity as an individual and or in his capacity as Mr Speaker, are advised to pull down such accounts/pages/groups forthwith..
