It was the gathering of both the political and social class at the the International Conference Center, in Umuahia, Abia State capital as guests from the state and other parts of the coutry to join the family of Chief and Chief Mrs. Charles Obioha Ogbonnaya (former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs) to witness the Holy Matrimony of their daughter; Adaeze and her husband; Mr. Mr. Chinedu Iroegbulem.
Those in attendance include the Governor of the State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu and his wife, Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji CON and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senators representing Abia Central and Abia South respectively, Hon Darlington Nwokocha and Hon Uzoma Nkem Abonta, members representing IsialaNgwa North/South and Ukwa East/West Federal Constituencies, Col Austin Akobundu, National Organizing Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Amb Empire Kanu, Secretary to the state Government, Barr Chris Chidiadi Ezem, Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, Traditional Rulers, clergymen and other top Abia government functionaries.
The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Orji while counselling the newly wedded couple, reminded them of the need to always love, cherish and tolerate one another.
“Communicate with each other respectfully because good communication is the bedrock of every marriage. Avoid hearsays because involving third parties in a marriage is usually harmful”.
Abia State Third Citizen who prayed for a peaceful and harmonious marriage, also asked God to sustain the couple with divine protection, prosperity and good health.
The Governor of the State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu who was the event’s Special Guest of Honour, on his part urged the couple to listen and heed to each other’s advice at all times.
