Man Bags 10-year Jail Term In An Attempt To Defraud Foreigners

The hand of justice on Monday came down hard heavily on young man simply identified as Murtala Abdullateef as Justice Malami Dogondaji slammed 10-year jail term on him.

Abdullateef was brought before the Hon. Justice Dogondaji by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Sokoto Zonal Office on one count charge.

According to the charge, Abdullateef using a fake facebook name claimed to be a United States Army General who is serving in Syria which the EFCC claimed was an attempt by the now convict to use same to defraud foreigners.

In a related development, the Kaduna Zonal office of the anti-graft agency said that they have commenced investigation into an alleged case of conspiracy, computer-related fraud and benefiting from proceeds of crime leveled against one Okhipo David, who claims to be an undergraduate.
