Obi of Onitsha, others condemn colleagues visit to Abuja

The leadership of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council has condemned some of their colleagues in strong terms for embarking on a failed mischievous trip to the Presidency in Abuja without first informing the state government as is statutorily required before such visits.

Rising from a meeting in Onitsha on Tuesday, the royal fathers expressed horror that their colleagues had brazenly breached the standard protocol which insists that the state government must be duly informed of their movement as well as the objective of their visit.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty Nnaemeka Achebe who is the Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council described the failed move of the Traditional Rulers as the equivalent of usurping the power and mandate which the errant royal fathers did not have.

gwe Achebe frowned at the appalling viral video showing some of the traditional rulers accepting some inducement to ensure that they embarked on the ill-fated journey and argued that their attempt to see President Buhari with the intention of discussing issues concerning Anambra State without authorization from the government was against standard protocol.

In attendance at the meeting were the Second Deputy Chairman of the Council, Igwe Sunday Okafor, Chairman of Anambra South Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Col. JOC Onebunne, his Anambra North counterpart, Igwe Victor Awogu and the Chairman of Anambra Central Traditional Council.
