It was an emotional day for Abia-Born Nollywood actress and her team as they couldn’t hold their tears the inmates of Peace Sisters Abandoned Children Outreach Ministry Int’l, off Adelu road in Osisioma Local Government Area of Abia State rendered heart-touching melodious songs to welcome their August visitors.

Like the story of the woman of Zarephath, the children in this home may have saved their last meal for the night, just in case, their outing for the day didn’t yield any fruit.

But while they were set to go out to evangelize and as well hope that God will touch their audience to assist them with cash or foodstuff(s), there came members of Princess Eziuche Obadiah Love and Care Foundation and officials from the Office of the Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on Diaspora Matters, led by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Erondu.

The team was at the Motherless Babies Homes to show love to the inmates who found themselves at the home for the fault of their parents or the society that was supposed to protect them.

It wasn’t a surprise that the elated children opened their hearts to call upon the name of God to shower His blessings upon their visitors who deferred the deplorable road network to visit their home and as well, make some donations.

For their guests, the visit is one that they will tell the stories all the days of their life.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Mrs. Joy Ugwueze, the founder of Peace Sisters Abandoned Children Outreach Ministry Int’l, Osisioma said “I was in London when I got the calling to care for the abandoned children and the elderly about ten years ago. I picked these children from the road, while some of them were brought here by some Good Samaritan who saw them on the road. We don’t reject them because they are children born of man and woman but were left on the streets out of the wickedness of the mother, or both the mother and father.

“For me, this is answering of the call of God upon my life.

“All these children were born by man and woman. Now the children are left alone. If not my help and other concerned individuals like you whom God has touched to remember us, what could have been the story of these children in the society today?

“By the special grace of God, these children don’t get so sick that they can’t be treated.

“What is the gain of a man and woman abandoning or throwing away their children after they have born them?

“Please, keep coming, because a tree cannot make a forest. What I have gained in this work is that God has been able to give me my own biological children; both male and female.

“Despite the bad road, you people came to see us. I pray that God will remember you people.

“For people who are in the habit of throwing away or abandoning their babies, they should desist from that.

“For young girls and boys who are not yet ready for marriage, they should abstain from having intercourse. They should concentrate on their studies and other pursuit in life.

“How can someone in this modern age be having unprotected sex and still expect that he or she cannot impregnate or get pregnant?

“They should stay on their own until the time they will get married.

“How can someone carry a baby for nine months and after giving birth to the child, the lady or woman and sometimes with the consent of the boy or man will decide to throw away the baby(ies)?

“People are coming for adoption, but I have refused to allow them to adopt. They are the people that threw away their child or children but are now coming to adopt.

“I have suffered a lot of humiliation and have taken a lot of insults from people because of these children, but I am at the same time draw my strength from the fact that as far as God is concern, I am sure that these children will go places.

“The care for the less privileged; both the abandoned children and the elderly in Nigeria is nothing to write home about.

“Apart from ensuring that these children eat, I also made sure that they know God. Just like Timothy knew the Bible from childhood, it is important that we expose them to the things of God so that they will tailor their lives towards the things that will benefit not just their physical needs, but their spiritual needs as well.”

In an interview, the Abia-born Nollywood actress and founder Princess Eziuche Obadiah Love and Care Foundation, Princess Obadiah said “It has kept coming to me to go and visit the Motherless babies after the feeding of the homeless on the streets of Aba whom I celebrated my birthday with this year.

“Since I had that encounter with the beggars on the street, I have been feeling unfulfilled because I have been able to visit the motherless children. But having done it today, I feel not just elated, but there is this peace of the mind and joy that I have having been able to do this today.

“So, I thank God that I was able to obey the voice that was asking me to go and visit them.

“The last place that I and my team visited, I would say was the highpoint of the visit. It was touching seeing how their mothers and parents for one reason or the other could abandon them. I was touched that I had to shed tears when the kids were singing their songs.

“I thank God that He (God) has been using people like me to bless and touch the lives of these less privileged children.

“I will advise people who are yet to imbibe the habit of giving to learn how to do so. It is something that is worth doing and emulating.

“It is not as if that I have, but the little that I have, I always want to use part of it for charity work. As I do it, I saw it coming back more than what I have done. I see God blessing me with more than what I have given out.

“People should try to develop the culture of giving. They shouldn’t wait until they have many. They should just give and keep giving. I am sure that God will definitely have a way of rewarding anyone that puts a smile on the faces of the less privileged.

“I also want to appreciate the Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Diaspora Matters, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Erondu who on seeing what I have been able to do, decide to come in and partner with me. She was what I have done online and that got her interest to come and partner with the Princess Eziuche Love and Care Foundation.

“I am happy with what she did today and I hope that we can do greater things ahead. I know that she is someone that loves giving back to the society. I have no doubt that together with her, we can touch so many lives of people in our society.

“On April 12, we will be holding a street show where we plan to feed people on the street. After that, we are planning to extend this gesture to the elderly from indigent homes where we will bring doctors and nurses to examine them and give out drugs to them. We are equally planning to cook for them, share clothes, visit their homes to help them clean their homes and make it more healthy and hygienic for them to stay.

“I am happy that I am having this partnership will go a long way in making the difference in the lives of the less privileged in and around us. The Bible says that if you can’t preach like Moses, you can hold the hand of Aaron to make sure that the work of God reaches to all the nooks and crannies of the world.

“I am urging others who have seen what I am doing to please partner with me in this project. We can through our little efforts give meaning to the lives of the dejected in the society.”
