Test-drive mechanic kills MTN security man in Aba

An automobile mechanic identified as one Akiola Mustapha who is said to be a staff of Automedics; an Aba based automobile repairs workshop located in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State have reportedly killed a security man attached to the Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) office at Margaret Avenue, Aba.

Sources in the area told our reporter that the deceased, a father of four is identified as one Orji David and a native of Edda in Ebonyi State.

Mustapha, who was test-driving a Toyota Avalon was said to have lost control of the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) as a result of over speeding.

According to eyewitnesses, Mustapha who was in the habit of excessive speed whenever he was on test-driving along Margaret Avenue was warned a few days ago to desist from such an act which many feared could lead to an unfortunate incident.

Narrating the story, an eye witness who pleaded anonymity says the driver over sped and lost control, hitting the pillar supporting the gate of MTN office.

The pillar was said to have landed on Orji and crushed him to death on the spot.

The witness while condemning the manner in which motorists speed around the avenue, called on the authorities to add more bumps from Aba-Owerri road end of the road to PZ Company.

Though it could not ascertain whether Mustapha was still alive at the time of filing this report, the source stated the shock she suffered seeing how the accident occurred could not allow her to get close to the scene.
