Anambra State government declares Free intra-state fares from Dec 1st

Anambra State government has declared free transportation for commuters within the State starting from December 1, 2019 to January 5, 2020.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transport Company Of Anambra State, TRACAS, Dr Ifeoma Madukasi stated this while addressing the Press at the Company’s Head Office in Awka.

The designated routes include Awka to Onitsha by Old Road, Eke Awka to Head bridge, Awka to Onitsha by Express to Upper Iweka, Awka to Otuocha by Aguleri Junction.

Others are Onitsha to Ogbaru by LGA Headquarters, Awka to Nnewi by Nkwo Nnewi Triangle and Awka to Oko, Ekwulobia to Onitsha.

Dr Madukasi revealed that the gesture is part of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration’s efforts to cushion the effects of high cost of transportation usually associated with the yuletide season.
