Enyimba Enyimba International Football Club of Aba on Sunday August 25 at their home soil defeated Rahimo Football Club of Bukina Faso with a 5-0 goal margin in a second leg qualifying Champions League preliminary match.
Recall that Enyimba International lost 1-0 to their visitor when they played the first leg of the Total sponsored Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Bukina Faso.
The victory recorded by Enyimba however put them ahead of their visitor with a 5-1 aggregate.
Though the host played behind closed door after they were banned by CAF for not meeting up to standard of the African Football Governing Body, those who had the privilege to watch the game described the performance of the Peoples’ Elephant as sterling.
The Aba landlords opened scoring at the 32mins through Reuben Bala and with 2mins into the commencement of the 2nd half, Enyimba got a second goal through a second half substitute; Stanley Okorom who plays right back.
While the visiting team was yet to reorganize themselves, Stanley Dimgba extended the lead at the 80th min as Bala again netted for the host team on the 86th minute.
Dimgba also grabbed a brace for the host team within the 5 added extra minutes to make the day more miserable to the visiting young team.
