COAS commissions corpers lodge in Abuja

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has today 4th February 2019, commissioned 40 room self-contained, apartments at Mambila barracks for National Youth Corpers posted to Army Headquarters and other units of the Nigerian Army within Abuja.

In a release by Brigadier General Sani K. Usman, Director Army Public Relations, the Chief of Army Staff while commissioning the project congratulated the Corpers and charged them to imbibe good maintenance culture for the accommodation to last long.

While giving the vote of thanks the visibly elated Corpers Liaison Officer, Mr Usiobaho Prince, thanked the Chief of Army Staff for saving them from accommodation challenges.

According him, many of them spend hours and money from far places like Kuje, Masaka, Kurudu, and Bwari to come to work at the Army Headquarters and other units within Abuja.

It could be recalled that Corpers posted to Army Headquarters suffer acute shortage of accommodation before the Chief of Army Staff decided to ameliorate the problem after the Commander Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General JGK Myam made a presentation to him on the plight of Corpers serving under Army Headquarters.
