“ABARIBE BETTER AS OHANAEZE PRESIDENT GENERAL THAN SENATOR” –NWOSU

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia State, Sir Friday Nwosu, has said that the senator representing Abia South senatorial zone, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, would have performed better as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo than senator, stressing that Abaribe has failed to deliver democracy dividends to his constituents in his 12 year stint at the National Assembly

Nwosu who stated this at his country home, Mgboko Umuoria, in Obingwa council area, Abia State, while receiving the APC senatorial candidate for Abia South, Chief Marc Wabara, alleged that Abaribe instead of focusing on lawmaking which was the primary reason he was sent to the National Assembly by the Abia South electorate, has abandoned his lawmaking duties to declare war on President Muhammadu Buhari led government through his actions in the Senate.

This is even as  Nwosu alleged that such action of the senator has made his constituents suffer unemployment, poverty and poor infrastructural development under his watch as Abia South lawmaker.

He said that in 2019, the people of Abia south would elect a senator who has the capacity to partner the federal government to make positive impact in four years, instead of declaring war.

“Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has forgotten about his duties as a lawmaker to  declare war on the President. We didn’t send him to abuse Buhari , but to attract dividends of democracy to Abia south which he has failed to do.We must not re-elect him, 12 years is not 12 days, it is enough for any senator to make impact, rather he has declared war on the federal government.  He has declared himself the ‘sword of Ndigbo’. But there is nothing wrong declaring himself sword of Ndigbo or Igbo champion. However, we must ensure that when the tenure of the present Ohanaeze executive led by Chief Nnia Nwodo, expires, that we elect Abaribe, he will serve better as the PG of Ohanaeze Ndigbo than as a senator.

“Abaribe has got the clout to emerge as PG of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, this is why he is called sword of Ndigbo. However, the sword of Ndigbo will put us in trouble in Abia because nobody declares war on the federal government and survives it. Even the one Ojukwu led didn’t augur well for Ndigbo, we don’t want another war.  It is better for somebody like Chief Ralph Uwazuruike to bear the name, sword of Ndigbo than a sitting senator. We need a senator who will rather partner with the federal government to address the high level of unemployment, poverty and poor infrastructure in Abia south. We have rehabilitated Abaribe for 12 years, we didn’t send him to attract war because if there is war in Abia south, he will run away and  leave the people to suffer.“

He urged Abaribe to withdraw from the Abia south senatorial election in 2019, stressing that it is injustice for the Ngwa bloc to hold on to the senatorial seat against the unwritten rotation agreement between Ngwa and Ukwa.

In his remarks, the APC senatorial candidate, Chief Marc Wabra, promised to his use his contacts to attract democracy dividends to the zone and urged the people to reject politicians who have nothing to offer the people.

Wabara said he is going to the Senate to bring about change and democratic development to the people of the area which they have been denied of in the past twelve years.
