The Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker, Bamidele Oloyelogun and Deputy Speaker, Iroju Ogundeji has been impeached.
Both were impeached by 18 out of 26 members of the Assembly on Friday over gross misconduct.
Meanwhile, Hon. Olamide George of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been elected as the new Speaker and Hon. Abimbola Fajolu as the new deputy speaker.
Recall that the deputy speaker Ogundeji was impeached and subsequently reinstated early this year following the intervention of the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
