Yet-to-be confirmed information from the circles of Abia State government on Wednesday has it that the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is preparing to reorganize his cabinet ahead of the 2019 general election.
Sources within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government in the state said that the essence of the cabinet reshuffling which they claimed would likely take place about August/September is to allow those serving in the government that have interest to run for various elective positions in the state to have the time to prepare ahead of the task.
According to the sources who would not want to be named told infonet9ja.com that prominent among the people that may likely leave office when the reshuffling takes place is the commissioner for Education, Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji who would be aspiring to represent the people of Abia South Senatorial District currently being occupied by Distinguish Senator Enyinnaya H. Abaribe.
Commissioner of Agriculture, Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike is expected to slug it out with the incumbent All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) lawmaker for Aba North and South respectively, Hon. Rtn. Ossy Prestige including the likes of member representing Aba North State Constituency in Abia House of Assembly, Hon Blessing Nwagba of the PDP as well.
Unconfirmed reports available to this medium have it that list of names of would be commissioner nominees and other sensitive positions have been penned down awaiting the governor’s approval.
