Leaders of APC in Obingwa Local Government where Sam Nkire comes from on Monday corroborated the position of the state leadership. They however stated that their doors were still open to welcome back Nkire anytime that he wishes to come back to their fold.

Speaking on behalf of other members of the party, former Deputy Governor of Abia State and APC gubernatorial aspirant, Comrade Chris Akomas in a chat with our reporter said “Our attention has been drawn to a publication which I have also confirmed that our senior and cherished brother chief Sam Nkire who has been the caucus leader of the state has reigned as caucus leader and that he has joined the R-APC.

“I don’t know what R-APC means. I only know that there is APC and that we are one family. I have called out these leaders of Obingwa and Abia South to stand in consultation with my other brothers.

“Our senior brother is a leader, he is an adult and we cherish him very well and very much too. If he had consulted us (which he didn’t) before taking this action, we would have urged and advised him not to. But be that as it may, he has taken this action and we as the APC people, all we say is that we wish him well in his voyage.

“As we wish him well in his voyage because he is our cherished brother and leader, our doors are also open for him whenever he wishes to come back. But we as people and as a party, we are APC, we will remain with APC. We don’t know what R-APC means. We are not interested in knowing what that means.
