Traditional rulers in Bende Local Government Area have reaffirmed a signed agreement on equity for Bende Federal Constituency and thrown their weight behind Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as OFUJI, as their preferred candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by OFUJI and members of his campaign organization, HRH Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu said the agreement was reached by the Bende Council of Traditional Rulers to ensure fairness in the rotation of political offices within the constituency.
“As custodians of our customs and tradition, we have signed an agreement that the House of Representatives seat will return to Bende North in 2027,” Eze Ukaegbu stated. “This is in line with our 8-year rotational understanding for power within Bende Federal Constituency, and we will stand by it.”
The monarch described Dr. Anyaso as “God’s choice for 2027” and commended him for his support for the Abia State government under Governor Alex Otti. He urged the people of Bende to respect the zoning arrangement and work together to sustain peace and unity in the area.
In his remarks, OFUJI thanked Eze Ukaegbu for the royal blessings and fatherly advice. He praised the traditional ruler for “standing for truth and equity” and pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on representation, development, and inclusive governance.
Members of the OFUJI Campaign Organization who accompanied him described the endorsement as a major boost ahead of 2027, noting that the backing of the traditional institution provides clarity on the zoning question in Bende.
