There is palpable tension in Isiala Ngwa North and South local government areas of Abia as reports from Mbata, Umuchima village in Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State have it that personnel of the Nigerian Army from the 14 Brigade , Ohafia, Ohafia local government area of the state and unknown gunmen have been locked in a gun duel.

Unconfirmed Reports have it that over 15 Hillux and Armoured Personnel Vehicles of the Nigerian army was seen around Umuchima village as early as 6am.

Their aim, according to reports was to attack the said unknown gunmen that have reportedly been camping around the river on yue village which serves as a boundary Abia State and Mbaise axis of Imo State.

It was gathered that junctions leading to and from the village have been taken over by soldiers from the 14 Brigade, Ohafia, as other colleagues engage the unknown gunmen in the bush.

Reports have it that sounds of gun have continued to rent the air even at the point of filing the report.
