A toddler suspected to be seven months old has reportedly been rescued in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
The baby was said to have been rescued along the ever-busy Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State (BCA) road in Umuahia North local government area of the state.
BCA road is where the state’s radio station and among other public and private establishments are situated.
She was said to have been rescued by good Samaritans in the early hours of Monday who took her to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC ), Umuahia for medical examination.
Reports have it that she was later taken to Central Police Station (CPS) Umuahia, along Bende road, where an official complaint was lodged.
A police source disclosed that the baby whose parents identity were yet unknown, has been taken to social welfare department in the state for further care.
Until the time of filing the report, the reason(s) the mother or parents of the baby decided to take such inhumane decision or step could not be immediately ascertained.
