Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Hon. Amobi Ogah has assured that the judgement of the National Assembly tribunal that sat in Umuahia, the Abia State capital would be reversed at the Court of Appeal.

Ogah who reacted to his sack by the tribunal today said “It will be revised at the Appeal Court”.

The National Assembly Election Tribunal had declared Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha winner of the February 25 National Assembly election in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.

The panel while delivering Judgement Wednesday stated that process of emergence of candidates is both pre and post election matter and that after recomputing the votes cast polling unit by polling unit, it was found out that Hon Onyejiocha of APC 11,936, while Amobi Ogah of Labour Party scored 9,738.

The Tribunal went ahead to order the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Hon. Amobi Ogah and reissue same to the petitioner, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.

Speaking to journalists after the judgement, the counsel to the petitioner Prof Olatoke expressed confidence in the judiciary stating that the Tribunal granted them all the reliefs they sought and has restored the mandate freely given by the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi to Hon Onyejeocha.
