A 24-year-old commercial tricyclist simply identified as Chigozie, has reportedly been arrested in Umuahia North local government area of Abia State as he attempts to dump the corpse of his girlfriend identified as Beauty.
Luck was siad to ran out of him when the locals in the area sighted him as he was dropping the corpse of the lat lover in the said bush.
It was gathered that save for prompt arrival of police team from the Abia State Command that were dispatched to the crime scene, angry mob would have lynched him.
It was gathered that upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to killing the 20-year-old native of Oboro Ikwuano local government area of the state whom he has been dating for two years.
Narrating how he killed the victim, the suspect said at about 7pm on Wednesday, he attempted to have sex with Beauty and she refused, leading him to beat her up.
According to him, while they were struggling, Beauty hit her head on the wall, which resulted in her death.
It was learnt that close examination on the body of the late 20-Year-Old Beauty however revealed that the victim had multiple injuries on her body suspected to be knife injuries.
She was rushed to Federal Medical Centre Umuahia where she was confirmed dead.
The body of the deceased was said to have been deposited at the Federal Medical Center’s (FMC) morgue where she was pronounced dead.
It was however learnt that an autopsy would be conducted at a later date to ascertain the true cause of her death.
According to the source who pleaded anonymity, “We were shocked when the boy passed us with his Keke (tricycle) with full speed.
“I told my brother that I saw something inside the Keke that looked like a dead body.
“We decided to follow him without his notice until he entered inside the bush to dump the body then we caught him red-handed.”
However, another version of the story had it that the two lovebirds were fighting over an issue when she suddenly tripped and hit her face on the floor.
The case of suspected ritual was said to have been ruled out as none of her body parts was missing.
