Gov. Dave Umahi’s Convoy Kills Three

Three natives of Ezza South Local Government Area have been confirmed dead after the convoy of David Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor, crashed into their motorcycle. It was gathered that the deceased persons were struck by an advance team while they were on the route leading to Muhammadu Buhari’s international airport. Information had it that the advance team, after dropping the state governor at the airport located at Onueke, where returning to the state capital when the tragic incident occurred. According to reports, the incident happened soon after the opening of a flyover named after Prince Arthur Eze at Abaomege in the local government area of Onicha. Prince Arthur Eze, together with Governor Umahi, commissioned the flyover. It was then learnt that shortly after the commissioning ceremony, the governor left for Abuja. However, Prince Arthur Eze and the state’s deputy governor, Eric Kelechi Igwe, left the accident scene and consoled the victims’ families before ordering that they be taken to the hospital and then sped off to Enugu State. The victims’ motorcycle and the involved Sienna were irreparably damaged, albeit their names and the registration number of the unfortunate car were not yet known at the time this report was filed.
