Christians have been charged to remember the price that Jesus Christ paid on the cross of Calvary for their sake.
This is even as those who have to gone out of the foundation laid for Christians by Jesus Christ have equally been asked to retrace their steps.
Speaking on the topic, “Celebration of Freedom” in his sermon to mark the 2023 Easter Celebration in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State, the resident priest in-charge of Christ Holy Church (CHC) International, 7b Ibo road, Snr. Evangelist Daniel Nzeribe who took his lesson from Mathew chapter 28:1-10 noted that the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary has redeemed man from sin.
The cleric who lamented that many people appeared to have forgotten the price that Christ paid for Christians during his missionary work on earth, urged Christians to continue to celebrate the freedom which the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ brought to humanity.
According to the cleric, contrary to the intentions of the Jews whose plans were to halt the spread of the gospel, the killing of Jesus Christ by the Jews became the vehicle through which the prophecies of the mission of Jesus Christ on earth was actualized.
The cleric who noted the roles of a few individuals played in the resurrection of Jesus, especially Mary Magdalene noted that the Jews wouldn’t have asked that Jesus Christ should be put to death if they had known that salvation would come to man through His death.
“Through the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I want Christians to know that whenever that we are celebrating the birth or death of Jesus, there is something that we want to bring into the memory of people because many have forgotten the that Christ paid for us.
“Even as we celebrate today, let us (Christians) remember the price that we cannot pay which Christ paid in order to reconcile us with his father.
“Let us work towards the grace that Christ has already given to us through his death and resurrection so that the sacrifice that he made for us will not be in vain.
“I want to also urge those who are yet to walk towards the sacrifice to retrace their steps to become good Christians.”
