Approves Command One Grade Level Promotion For All Civil Servants

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has extended the One Grade Level Command Promotion granted to workers in Abia State Local Government System to Civil Servants in the State.

The Governor equally directed that the contentious Annual Leave Allowances for the workers of the State civil service be paid within the next seven days.

Governor Ikpeazu was speaking at a meeting with the members of the workforce in the State civil service at the OCHENDO International Conference Centre, Umuahia.

He appealed to the civil servants in the State to vote massively for the PDP Governorship candidate, Chief Okey Ahiwe.

The Governor assured that Chief Ahiwe would sustain his achievements and implement the welfare packages of the civil servants as well as perform better than himself.
He said, government is a continum, hence he continued the projects started by his predecessor and urged them to vote for continuity.

According to the Governor, the March 18th election is as important as the lives of the people of Abia hence it should be taken very seriously.

He said that if any worker votes the wrong person, he will have gambled with his job and the future of his family.

The Governor who appreciated the great support received from the workers since 2015 attributed such achievements and recognitions as receiving awards for Ease of Doing Business, SME capital of the Nigeria among others to the efforts of the civil servants.

Speaking also, the PDP Governorship Candidate, Chief Okey Ahiwe assured that the Command Promotion pronounced by the Governor would be fully sustained while other welfare packages would be taken care of adequately when he assumes office as Governor.

He said he would serve Abia diligently just as he served as Chief of Staff and promised to make training and retraining of workers his watch word while pledging to sustain and improve on the achievements of the present administration.

In a vote of thanks, the State Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah expressed the happiness of the civil servants over the Command Promotion granted to the workers in the State as well as the approval he has given for the Annual Leave Allowance of the workers to be paid in the next one week.

He described Sir Okey Ahiwe as a man with grace , assuring that the civil servants would not abandon him.

The meeting attracted many diginitaries including the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem, Commissioners, Chairman,Civil Service Commission, Permanent Secretaries amongst others.
