Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka could still ‘leave’ Old Trafford in the January transfer window, journalist Fabrizio Romano has informed GiveMeSport.

The 25-year-old has fallen down the Red Devils’ pecking order over the last year or so, leading to speculation that he could be set for pastures new this winter.

Romano provided an update on Wan-Bissaka’s situation via CaughtOffside earlier this month, stating that ‘no major developments’ have occurred.

“There have been no major developments yet on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future,” the transfer expert said. “Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham had talks to ask for information on the conditions of the deal in December, but it’s still early stages.

Wan-Bissaka still has two and a half years left to run on his £90,000-per-week contract, though, and has put in a handful of improved performances of late.

Encouraging displays against the likes of Burnley, Nottingham Forest and Wolves have perhaps eased the eagerness to offload the right-back, who has made 132 appearances for United, this month.
What has Romano said about Wan-Bissaka?

Back in June, Metro reported that Erik ten Hag had informed Wan-Bissaka that he was free to leave United as he did not feature in the Dutchman’s first-team plans.

And Romano has told GMS that ‘there is still a chance’ the former England Under-21 leaves the club in January if they receive a ‘good proposal’.

He said: “I’m told there is still a chance for him to leave in case Manchester United receive a good proposal. The situation is considered open.”
Who could Man Utd replace him with?

Reliable Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed back in October that Frimpong was ‘on the list’ of the United hierarchy as they assessed possible right-back options.

Romano then stated that the Netherlands international has a £25 million price tag and ‘would be really keen’ to make the move to Old Trafford.

The price tag of Frimpong is around £25 million. Bayer Leverkusen wanted to keep the player, not an easy one,” Romano told his YouTube channel.
