The leadership of the Abia State Commands of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigeria Police Force have resolved to nip in the bud, the inter-agency rivalry between its personnel.
The NSCDC State Commandant; Muhammad Hassan Sanyinna and the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mustapha Bala made this known when Bala paid his NSCDC counterparts a familiarization visit in his office has renewed hope of an end to the unfortunate and avoidable inter agency rivalry between NSCDC and Police personnel in the state.
Infonet9ja.com reports that there had been cases of inter-agency rivalry between personnel of security agencies in the state which sometimes results to open confrontation between personnel of the agencies.
Speaking during the familiarity visit to the NSCDC Command headquarters in Umuahia, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Mustapha Bala said “we will adopt Collaboration, Engagement and Synergy to secure Abia State.
“I assure you that under my watch as a CP, bickering and supremacy rivalries will be a thing of the past”.
CP Bala further said there was no alternative to a formidable and harmonious relationship between the two agencies if crime and criminality in the state will be given a good fight.
Responding, Commandant Sanyinna thanked his guests for initiating the crucial visit and assured him of the willingness of his Command to close ranks with sister security agencies and other critical stakeholders to sustain the relative peace in the state.
In his words “your visit and call for the formation of a formidable force to combat crimes in the state truly represent the letters and spirits of synergy and that makes us stronger.
“We will work together to deliver better security services to the general public”

Commandant Sanyinna further said he was happy that his Personnel have not had issues with the Police in the state and pledged to sustain the comradeship going forward.
