Francis Uzoho Reveals How He Stopped Man United From Scoring Too Many Goals

Francis Uzoho couldn’t stop smiling in a heartwarming interview after his heroic display in Manchester United vs Omonia on Thursday evening.

Uzoho is a lifelong United fan and was named in the starting lineup for the Europa League match at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old put in a heroic display as he made save after save against Erik ten Hag’s side.

The likes of Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo threw everything they had at Uzoho but he repelled them again and again.

Unfortunately for Uzoho and Omonia, the Nigerian was beaten in the 93rd minute when Scott McTominay fired the ball into the net from close range to give the home side the victory.

It was a heartbreaking defeat for Uzoho and Omonia who were ever so close to coming away from Old Trafford with a share of the spoils.

But Uzoho, who made 12 saves and was given a 9.2/10 rating by WhoScored.com, was not unhappy after the match.

He couldn’t stop smiling during a wholesome interview with BT Sport.

When asked if he was frustrated after the game, he replied: “I am not disappointed because we had a good game. We would have preferred to get at least a point but I am happy. It’s not an easy stadium to play in with these big players but I’m happy in general.

“It’s a dream come true [to play at Old Trafford]. I have dreamed to play here for a long, long time. So when I saw the draw, and figured I would by playing at Old Trafford, I wanted to play and prayed to God that I would get the opportunity to play. I got it and I am happy that I played here.

When asked whether it was the best display of his career, Uzoho replied: “Arguably yes. Yes, I think so.”
