Man allegedly beats his girlfriend to death, six months after giving birth
Police operatives in Anambra state have arrested a man in his 30s, identified as Ikenna Asiegbu, for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death in Urutolu village, Mgbakwu area of the state.
It was gathered that on Saturday, February 4, the suspect allegedly attacked the deceased, Chidimma Christopher, 22, despite interventions from their neighbours.
According to reports, the deceased, who put to birth six-months ago, collapsed and was rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Confirming the incident in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said, “On Saturday, we received information that the suspect beat and murdered the victim in his house at Mgbakwu.
“The victim was rescued and rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
