The Head Coach of Abia Warriors Football Club, based in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, Coach Imama Amapakabo has escaped death by the whiskers after involving in an auto-crash.
According to a statement by the club, Amapakabo was in his official SUV with two other coaches of the club when the incident happened.
The statement stated that the coaches were on their way to Okigwe for the team’s training session at the Okigwe Township stadium, which is their current home owing to the nature of the Umuahia Township stadium Which the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) bans any form of football activity from taking place on the turf.
The club’s statement stated that no life was lost as the coaches were in stable condition.
“Our Head Coach, Imama Amapakabo, alongside other two coaches were involved in a minor road accident on their way to Okigwe for the team’s training session. No life was lost, the Coaches involved are in stable condition.
