The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has submitted names of twenty seven commissioner nominees to the Abia State House of Assembly for screening.

Recall that Ikpeazu since the dissolution of his cabinet in January this year, he has been running the affairs of the state with a few member State Executive Council.

The action of Ikpeazu, though has been severally defended by the information commissioner, Mr. John Okiyi-Kalu when he was quizzed on why the state government would run the State Exco with few individuals, opposition parties who saw the act as illegal have continued to charge Ikpeazu to reconstitute a full Exco.

Ikpeazu in statement on Sunday, which was signed the secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr Chris Ezem named the nominees as Mazi Donatus Okorie, Ndom Godwin, Chief Okezie Erondu, Professor Ikechi Mgbeoji, Karibe Ojigwe, Chief Mrs Uwaoma Olewengwa, Prince C.O.Enweremadu, Barr Charles Esonu, Chief Chinagorom Nwankpa, Hon Monday Ajaegbu, Mr Sopuruchi Bekee, Deaconess Rose Urenta, Chief Kingsley Imaga, Chidiebere Uwagwu  Kalu, Barr I.C. Mark, Chief Chisom Nwachukwu, Chief Eze Nwanganga, Barr Tony Nwanmuo, Barr Sam Nwogu, Dr Chidi Onwuchuruba, Ugochukwu Emezue, Mrs Adaku Oseiza, Barr Eze Chikamnayo, Chief Godswill Nwanoruo, Prince Obinna Okey, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma and Barr. C.C. Emelogu.

The statement has it that the Governor has forwarded the names of the Commissioner Nominees to the Abia State House of Assembly for Screening which would be conducted by the 7th Assembly Lawmakers at a latter date.
