The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki said that he has implicit confident that Nigerian Army under the leadership of Chief of Staff (COSA) would win the insecurity challenges bedeviling the country.
Governor Obaseki, while receiving the COAS during a courtesy call on him (Governor), said that the competence, vision and zeal of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) – Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya will lead to the end of insecurity in Nigeria.
Speaking further, Gov. Obaseki hailed heads of various security agencies in the state who have been able to achieve more through coordinated efforts.
“The operational expedience with which the Army, under the leadership of the COAS is taking on the insurgents, militants and violent separatists through joint efforts is an indication that peace and tranquility in Nigeria is not afar off.”
The Edo Governor, commending the Nigerian Army for the support and robust relationship with sister security services and other security agencies to curb cultism, criminality and communal clashes within the state, he pledged to continue to support the Army.

The COAS, expressing gratitude to the government and Edo State indigenes for the support accorded the Nigerian Army, especially the construction of accommodation blocks at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Benin, affirmed that the Nigerian Army will always respond when called upon; as it is one of her constitutional roles to aid civil authority, when called upon to do so.
